DemocratsCommunity Celebrated Lake Ontario During Weekend Rally
Residents of Jefferson County joined residents across Oswego County for a rally celebrating Lake Ontario and our long-standing friendship with our neighbors in Canada, on Saturday, Sept 5.
The rally was designed as a unifying event focused on appreciation for the lake that shapes our daily lives and for the cross-border connection that has endured for generations. Participants brought flags, signs, and messages of goodwill highlighting the shared love of Lake Ontario and our Canadian neighbors.
Organizers emphasized that this was not a political demonstration, but a celebration of community pride, environmental beauty, and international friendship.
“Lake Ontario connects us,” organizers said. “This rally was about gratitude for the water we share and the neighbors we value.”
